Guided Walks in North Yorkshire – July & August 2009.


There is nothing better than exploring the finer points of North Yorkshire with an expert. Various organisations throughout North Yorkshire offer short guided walks during the summer to look at wildlife, rock formations or the stunning countryside. As we don’t want our guests to Flamborough Rigg Cottage to miss out on these opportunities we have compiled a list so you can pick out those that appeal to you.

learn all about the ancient and vast Lake Pickering.

Join the Ranger for a walk around the high moor of Levisham
Estate taking in the Spectacular heather moorland as the sun sets.

Sunday, 2 Aug 12.00-15.00 NYMNP
From Appleton-le-Moors Village Hall
Join the Ranger for a 5 mile walk taking in the villages of Appleton-le-Moor
and Spaunton. Discover a mediaeval planned village.
The walk ends with tea and a short presentation.

Join the Ranger for a walk challenging 12 mile moorland walk
taking in Malo and Lilla Cross. The return leg is along the top of
the escarpment overlooking North Dale and the NYM railway.
