The girls and I are already licking our lips at the thought of all those pancakes on Shrove Tuesday here at Flamborough Rigg cottage B&B near Pickering in North Yorkshire.
Phil and Caroline have decided that we will need all the exercise we can get that day and plan to take us along to the Skipping Festival at South Bay Sea Front, Scarborough.
This wonderful and quirky, low key event has been taking place to celebrate Shrove Tuesday in Scarborough since 1903. Families will turn up informally to skip on the afternoon of 16 February. The road along the foreshore will be closed off between noon and 17.00 to allow people to skip safely.
I wonder if any other dogs will be joining in. Lily and I are going to practice up and down the lane so we don’t embarrass ourselves on the big day.
